This morning I’ve been happy to open an email with Andy Dooley ART and poem above. Andy’s message very powerfully resonates with the way I feel sometimes – after uploading photos from an even to my computer. On the screen, I can very clearly see people’s faces glowing with happiness that I caught on my camera while they were dancing and having fun. When they were being themselves.
And that beauty has nothing to do with age, outfit, make-up or gender. It comes from within and it’s more real than anything. So – listen to Andy: be yourself, have fun and look beautiful! It happens easily when you are you… ![]()

Towns named Hurricane
Did you know that there are at least four towns in U.S. – that have the word hurricane in their name? Here’s the list of the ones I was able to find – after much “googling” around:
- Hurricane, UT
- Hurricane, WV
- Hurricane Mills, TN
- Hurricane Lane, VT
Of course there are a lot more streets and other places with that name but the list would most likely be pretty long.

In the middle of hurricane season and with the first hurricane of 2011 – Irene – approaching U.S. east coast, I was feeling intrigued to look for some images on the topic – through an artistic point of view. Photo above is the first one I came across – and I found it enchanting. I hope You do, too!

Fauna and Flora
I was looking around – for a nice image with fauna theme – for another one of my blogs. That’s how I stumbled across this magical photo – and instantly decided to feature it as one of the eye candy arts. Hope You like it, too! ![]()

Eye candy
After starting it with great enthusiasm and zest to add loads of posts in the shortest time possible, I’ve been neglecting this art blog for quite some time. Not because I lost interest or didn’t have any creative ideas about what to do with it. On the contrary. I still feel just as inspired to add more content as I did on the first day.
But many of you probably know what things look like – at the times when life starts happening – and a day still has only 24 hours…
Well, I’ve been away for some time and after coming back home I had more things on my to do list then I was able to keep up with. However, I’ve been giving some thought to all the things that I had no time to work on – and sometimes that’s even better than too much action.
I am now more than ready to look around for some new eye-candy-arts – for my enjoyment and yours, to create and a place where we can always rest our eyes upon some pleasant visual art creations by different artists whom I So appreciate.
Here’s one of the eye candy photos I found on Flicker. Sweet, isn’t it?

This shot was taken with my first digital camera, a simple point n shoot Sony P31. It’s a composite shot. The eyes are mine, and yes, i ate them all! The alternative title is ‘weightwatchers’

Sunflowers painting
There are some things that Sri Rajes and I definitely have in common. We both have a great respect for Mother Nature – and we both love flowers.
I am admiring them, taking photos of them, growing them – and Sri Rajes never stops painting them. For today’s eye-candy-arts post I picked one of my all times cheerful favorites – the Sunflowers – acrylic painting by Sri Rajes.

Juggler
My 6 favorite things about the painting below:
- It’s the painting from the “Tree Spirits” collection by Janice Blaine – and I love trees very much.
- Palm trees in particular make my heart sing because in my part of the world they mean that the sea or the ocean must be nearby.
- This painting is cheerful and for some time now I’ve been on a mission to purposely look for things that make me feel good, no matter where I am going, no matter what I’m doing and no matter who is with me.
- The background looks very tropical, almost romantic.
- The Juggler’s face is a perfect reflection of this happy tree spirit.
- Playfulness of the Juggler very much resonates with me because I, too, enjoy being playful.
…
Description of the painting above by JANICE BLAINE:
Palm trees always looks so cheerful, dancing happily in the wind. This one is juggling coconuts while his fish companions encircle him.
