Addicted to stuff??

A few days ago I dropped my Kindle in a bath tub, full of hot water. It was a shocking experience, joined with disbelief that something like that even happened to me…
Most of us have a lot of stuff around, from electronic toys to clothing shoes and accessories, not to mention beauty products, boxed foods and more. Some of them are used on a regular basis and a bunch of others just sit there and clog our living space.
And then there are a few special ones, those that are actually being enjoyed when used. My Kindle book reader was one of those things that was appreciated every time I used it for reading while relaxing or waiting in line some place. And now that it drowned, I sincerely miss it. I’ll have to replace it. The sooner the better!
Remembering my bath tub and Kindle experience made me think about all the other stuff that people want to keep around simply because they are addicted to their stuff, not because all those countless objects would benefit or cheer them up in any way. It doesn’t make much sense, does it?
Anyway, I think I’ll go through my closets again and look for things not being used to give them away. I’m not much addicted to stuff. I like that!

What looks like chaos…

There are many places around this world that look like total chaos: big cities, airports, train and bus stations, even highways and any other place where a lot of people or vehicles are gathering and crossing paths. Even the starry sky looks like a random mess of stars and planets and anything else that’s traveling around the Universe.
Yet, everything is in perfect order. Every person going toward their final destination, just like every car, plane, boat, train and bus. Every planet keeps circling their orbit, in perfect proximity with all the other planets around.

From my current point of view this world and our fast paced life might look like a chaos dance. But the more I think about life, events and circumstances, the more I step back to see a bigger picture, the more perfection I notice. What looked like a chaos dance becomes graceful and sophisticated, like a couple, endlessly in love, waltzing around the dance floor…

I didn’t really have an idea what to write about in today’s post and then I stumbled upon the expression heart sing. It very strongly resonated with me and made me give some thoughts to how important it is to – at least once a day, for some time – do whatever makes my heart sing. No matter what that might be.
